REVIEW : Do you love to daydream?

Book Review: Dreamology

Author: Lucy Keating

Genre: Young adult fiction

Pages: 341

Rating: 3.75 out of 5 stars

Do you love to daydream? Then this is the book for you.

Love is a dream. Then you wake up.

For as long as Alice can remember, she has dreamed about a boy named Max. They have gone on countless adventures in her dreams. But only in her dreams, because Max isn’t real.

Or so Alice thought, until she walks into class on her first day at a new school and sees him sitting there. But as Alice gets to know him, she finds out that Real Max is nothing like Dream Max, and he has a whole life that she isn’t part of.

But when their dreams start to bleed into their waking hours, they realize that they might have to put an end to a lifetime of dreaming about each other. But when you fall in love in your dreams, can reality ever be enough?

Dreamology was a really quick and enjoyable read. I really enjoyed the concept that the author came up with and became infatuated with Max and Alice’s relationship. I loved the switch between the real world and the dream world, and how Max acted differently in each world.

I adored all the characters and found that it was almost impossible to dislike any of them. I loved care-free Oliver and Sophie, who was an amazing friend to Alice, even though they lived really far away. I even thought that Celeste who, in any other book, might have been “the mean girl”, was a very friendly and warm-hearted character.

The writing of this book has to be commended . It was easy to read and captivating at the same time. It made for excellent world-building, especially in the dreams. Max and Alice’s adventures were perfectly described.

I did feel as if Max and Alice went through all the trouble to find out how to stop the dream bleeding and then it ended up being really simple. Although the ending was slightly rushed, it was still a great conclusion to the story, and immediately left me hoping for a sequel.

In conclusion Dreamology is perfect for anyone who loves to daydream and is looking for a quirky romance.

Has anyone else read this book? What’s the last romance book you’ve read?

Sand in toes, nose in book!

Hi all! My family and I had an amazing holiday at the coast and I managed to catch up on some of my reads! Although I read just about anywhere and everywhere, my most favourite place to read is on the beach! The sand between my toes and the sun on my body, with a book in my hand is just the best feeling ever! We have a holiday spot that we frequent and I have found the perfect spot, right next to the lagoon. It is secluded and quiet and when the tide is low, this is like heaven on earth! I decided to take with one of my new reads, Dreamology by author Lucy Keating.

I loved this book! And it was so fitting for the time I read it. I was going through a time where I really just wanted to travel to a different place. I felt exhausted from all the exams I wrote and just needed to imagine a different place and escape to a different place and this book was just perfect! For those of you who have not read it, it is definitely a good read. I suggest you get a copy, as I do not want to give too much away.

Do you have any favourite reading spots? I’d love to hear from you!

Keep well, till next time!

Love, Jenna

This is me, Jenna// saying hi and welcome!

Hi and Welcome!

Hi all, this is officially my first blog. I just recently started my blog and I am soo excited! I’m still a student, so we get tons of projects, but I will try and post as often as I can!

I am also new to WordPress, so my site is not perfect, yet! I am a bit of a perfectionist, which can sometimes make me kinda cranky if things are not 100%, but I am learning to let go a little. Being a perfectionist, I am also a little obsessed about my books, meaning no-one is allowed to touch it!

Am I the only one? I cannot get myself to lend out my books to friends or family! I know, that is maybe a little immature of me, or is it?

I would love to know how you guys feel about lending books to family and friends? Do you have a book lending policy?

Anyways, in-between school projects, I also do yoga, I love watching movies and I am currently trying my hand at photography.

I got myself some awesome books at a recent book sale and I am over the moon! I already have another long list of books that I need to buy at the next book sale which is around the corner!

Hundreds of books at the book sale!!
Books bought at the Bargain books sale

I got these books from Bargain books, a leading bookstore in South Africa. Click here for their website.

Please get in touch, I would love to get to know you all and perhaps get some reviews on some of my books I bought!!

Love, Jenna
